TANIA HOLMES - Biog Born as Tania Harper in 1967, Tania grew up in the village of Easebourne near Midhurst, educated locally and studying Business Studies at Chichester College during 1984 she went onto to work as a secretary for a local roofing company. She married in 1986 and had her first child in 1988, moving to Lavant the day after starting Maternity leave. Not being able to return to her job she started a secretarial services business in early 1989 and had her second child in December of that year but sadly separated from her husband in 1992, moving back to Midhurst. Meeting her current husband in 1991, David (known as Dizzy) was an old friend from the local scooter club as they had both had scooters during the 80s, David had come off of his scooter in October 1984 breaking his back which left him confined to a wheelchair following an 18 month stay in Odstock Hospital in Salisbury. They started their own business in 1992 - Detour Records (which became Detour Mail Order) and moved into their current home in August 1995. Only having one bulldog at that time, Bessie lived for a further year and died in 1996 at the grand age of 13, opening the way for a further 14 bulldogs to date. They bred their first litter in June 1999, keeping 2 dogs who were shown with some success over the coming years. Tania gained a diploma in Dog Breeding in 2001 together with an advanced Dog Breeding Certificate via the Animal Care College the year before. She also holds a Rehoming certificate and is Canine first aid trained. Today Tania and David run their business Detour Mail Order which includes Reggie's Den - an on line Bulldog Supply shop, and they are also full time co-ordinators for the Bulldog Rescue and Rehoming Trust where Tania is Company Secretary and Chief Executive as well as the National co-ordinator and Administrator. Tania's Book "The Bulldog Bible" sold 1000 copies in it's first year Tania is an Accredited Pet Care Profession is hoping to qualify as an SQP in early 2011 |
