hi please find a copy of an email i received after enquiring about a bulldog puppy on Gumtree- the original ad stated a male puppy in london seeking home £120 i thought is this a scam or could there be more to it??
i also had been on your website and noticed a few puppys and dogs have been stolen in ireland and the email as shown below just seems a little coinsidence that the man now states he is visiting in ireland with the dog! plus there are several ads dotted on gumtree some for bitches some for dogs but all original ads state the dog and owner are in ireland. it may be a scam where they get you to send money in the hope for a dog and you get nothing or i wondered if it could be to do with the scum that steal these loverly animals!!

I was so relieved and infuriated to read your report on bulldog puppy scams.

Yesterday I was flicking through Gumtree looking at puppies and saw a gorgeous bull dog puppy. Sent the lady an e mail asking for more info on her, and I swear to god within 2 hours and 6 e mails they had rail roaded me into taking delivery of her the next day. I knew something wasn’t right, who sent, from Edinburgh, a small pup to someone they didn’t know, hadn’t even spoken to on the phone, by courier? I tried to pull out but received an e mail saying the agency had the puppy. Then received an e mail from a pet delivery agency saying they had her and were waiting for payment so they could deliver her. They wanted me to wire through Western Union, £200 to a country and address I’ve never even heard of! No way! I THEN received a phone call saying they were confirming the delivery of a bulldog puppy. I told him I wasn’t taking a delivery, this seemed very wrong and a big con. I then let him know that my brother is a Police dog handler, to which, he hung up. I’ve just received an e mail saying the agency had the “baby” and it had cost her £70, she’d be delivered tomorrow if that was ok.!?

I searched Google to see if anyone else had experienced a scam like this when I came across your report.

Can people actually do this? Its disgusting and despicable what people will do for money!

Can’t something be done?

Hi just a quick email to give a warning to anyone advertising bulldog puppies for sale. We had ours advertised and recieved a phonecall from a man who said he would like to come and have a look at our pups he took our address and said he would be visiting that evening at 7.30pm. Of course nobody came but at 2 am the following morning we were woken by our dogs barking and my husband went downstairs to check everything out to find that my lock had been removed and if not for our chain and large dog they would have been in. The police said this is now a very common occurrance so i would just advise anyone advertising to be on their guard as people are not always as genuine as they may seem.

They are 15 weeks currently and AKC registered all their shots are up to date and they are 3lbs.They are $600 each shipping included the two are $1,200. I got relocated to west africa recently and could not take care of the babies anymore. I want a great home for them because they are my real babies.

The weather here is not conducive for them that is why I want to get them out as soon as possible and I will be very happy if you will be one to take them as your babies. I have a male and his name is Jack while the female name is Demi they are both very good with kids and love to play alot this is one of their many character, the babies has a Current vaccinations,Vet Exams., Health Cert. and Guarantee (1yr), Potty Trained and home raised and socialized for tremendous attitude, excellent temperament, super trainability and recently checked by a licensed Vet Doctor for heart, knees, skin, correct bite, and eyes. I never wanted to sell them but the weather here in West Africa is not helping matter at all.

Yes the puppy is still up for adoption. the puppy is AKC reg. she is so cute and adorable. she understands english and she is 12 weeks old. but at present i am not in the states. i just lost my dad who has been working in Nigeria in a brewery company. i was invited to Nigeria as his only next of kins to collect a compensation. the puppy is also with me because i thought it will be as fast as possible. but since i never knew i will stay longer than this and the change of environment and lack of quality dog food that the puppy has been exposed to i decided to adopt her out . she is already quarantined and is well vaccinated. my happiness is to give her the love and care
