HENRY(ETTA)

Henry(etta) is only 6 months old but comes with an awful lot of baggage. Initially found by the RSPCA in the cupboard under the stairs of an abandoned house, sat in his own waste he presented with no muscle tone in his back legs making it impossible for him to stand and such an infection underneath that he has had to have his entire penis removed, he has also been castrated and an opening has been surgically created for him to urinate through. He is basically now female (the worlds first transsexual bulldog??)

However, he is doubly incontinent. What we don't know is if he was already incontinent, hence the reason why he was put in a cupboard or if the surgery has caused him to become incontinent. Either way we cannot know if this will every improve.

Following his surgery, Henry(etta) was sent to Battersea Dogs home to recover. They reported that his control had improved slightly whilst with them. However, he does now have full movement of his back legs and can run, walk, jump totally normally.

He dribbles wee as soon as there is some in the bladder and poohs whilst he's asleep but we have noticed him deliberately wee twice so there is a slight change he will improve.

Henry(etta) is an absolutely adorable puppy but will need lots of time, patience and care in order to live with him. He appears to be completely un phased psychologically by his experience and gets on with other dogs, children and adults. He also listens to other dogs if they tell him off.

Henry(etta) really needs to be back in a proper family quickly but it needs to be the right family.

He is currently in foster care in West Sussex
